Zim Afro T10 League 2023 draft – Teams, icon players and live streaming details
The draft for the 2023 Zim Afro T10 league is being held on July 2 —here’s where you can watch the T20 auction live along with the players in contention.
The first ever Zim Afro T20 League will be held from July 20, with the final on July 29. The event will be held entirely in Harare, with the player’s draft taking place on Monday (July 2) from 2 pm IST.
This competition will be one of the most high-profile T10 leagues, after the Abu Dhabi T10 league, founded in 2017. Since then, a number of 10-over leagues have come up, including the Qatar T10 League and the European Cricket League, featuring 30 teams.
Zim Afro T10 League 2023: Who are the participating teams?
The league will feature five teams, representing five different cities in Zimbabwe and South Africa. The sides are Harare Hurricanes, Joburg Buffaloes, Durban Qalandars, Bulawayo Braves, and Cape Town Samp Army.
Zim Afro T10 League: Player draft rules
Each side will need to pick at least 16 players, including six from Zimbabwe. At least one of the six from the country needs to be from the “emerging player” category. Each franchise also named their marquee players ahead of the draft on Monday. They could sign up to four overseas cricketers.
