The Women’s T20 Challenge makes a return in 2022 after it was cancelled last year — here’s the full squads and team list of the event. The tournament will run concurrently with IPL 2022.

The Women’s T20 Challenge will be a four-game tournament scheduled to be held in Pune from May 23 to May 28. Three teams will take part, with Harmanpreet Kaur leading Supernovas, Smriti Mandhana captaining Trailblazers, and Deepti Sharma being in charge of Velocity. Veterans Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj have not been picked in any squad.

Each of the three squads has 16 members, with a total of 12 overseas players from South Africa, West Indies, England and Australia among other countries participating.

The Women’s T20 Challenge was first held in 2018 when a one-off exhibition game was scheduled. In 2019 and 2020, three teams fought against each other for the title. The tournament was canceled in 2021 due to the rising Covid-19 cases in India. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has hinted at a full-fledged women’s IPL from 2023, with Rajasthan Royals CEO Jake Lush McCrum confirming the franchise would be keen to have a team in the competition.
