The US Masters T10 League has provided quality action so far. Several former cricketers have turned the clock back to put up eye-catching performances. Kamran Akmal joined the list with a blistering cameo at the top of the order during New York’s run-chase of 98 from 10 overs against the Atlanta Riders yesterday (August 21).
Electing to field after winning the toss, the Warriors restricted the Riders to 97-4 off their 10 overs. For Atlanta, each of the top four got starts, but neither could convert. Dwayne Smith was the highest scorer, with 34 off 26 balls, while for New York, Sohail Khan had the best figures – 3-21 off two overs.

In response, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kamran gave New York a rollicking start that all but finished the game inside five overs. Kamran scored ten off his first three balls, hitting Kamrul Islam Rabbi for two fours.
It was in the fourth over of the innings he completely cut loose. Kamran hit left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh for three sixes and a four off the first four balls, racing away to 34 off 11 and taking his team to 63-0 after four overs.
He fell next, run out while trying to steal a run. By then, he had done his job, setting his team up for a comfortable victory. Shahid Afridi and Jonathan Carter finished things off, achieving the target with as many as 11 balls to spare.
