TNPL: The 2021 Tamil Nadu Premier League will be held from 19th July to 15th August – here’s the complete schedule and full list of fixtures for the domestic T20 tournament.

Last year’s TNPL was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, eight teams will participate over 28 days in the fifth edition of the tournament. Chepauk Super Gillies are the defending champions and the only team to win the competition twice. Tuti Patriots and Siechem Madurai Panthers have won one edition each.

All matches will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai. No spectators will be allowed at the tournament.

There will be three rest days, one after the end of the group stage, and two before and after Qualifier 2. There will be seven double-headers in all – the afternoon matches will start at 3.30pm IST and evening games at 7.30pm IST.

Notable players such as R Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Varun Chakravarthy won’t be available for the competition due to international commitments.

The eight teams are as follows: Chepauk Super Gillies, Dindigul Dragons, LYCA Kovai Kings, Salem Spartans, iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Ruby Trichy Warriors, Nellai Royal Kings and Siechem Madurai Panthers.

According to the schedule, the opening match of TNPL 2021 will be between Lyca Kovai Kings and Salem Spartans, and there will be 32 matches in all. The final will be held on August 15.
