Watch: Chris Jordan scored arguably the finest come-from-behind knocks, smashing 70* in 32 balls from No.8 after his team, the Southern Brave, had been reduced to 56-6 against Welsh Fires in the 2023 Hundred.
Like the other batters, Jordan struggled to get going at first, making eight in his first 14 balls, while also being involved in the run out of Rehan Ahmed, which further sunk the side into despair. However, not many would have anticipated what followed next, as Jordan went on to smash a blistering half-century, racing away from eight to 70 in just 18 balls, with the help of three fours and as many as seven sixes. No other batter from the side hit a six in the game.
He smashed three successive maximums off Roelof van der Merwe, before taking David Willey apart towards the end of the innings, with two sixes and a four. Jordan stitched together a 71-run stand with Craig Overton for the ninth wicket off 24 balls, in which his contribution was 65 runs. Overton faced only seven balls in their stand, with the partnership pushing up the score to a formidable 147-8 after they were languishing at 76-8 at one stage, in 76 balls.
His knock ensured a tight win for Southern Brave, as they edged ahead by two runs.
