The two teams who will contest the three matches are Amazons and Super Women, with the first match set to be played in the build up to Peshawar Zalmi’s clash with Quetta Gladiators. All of the matches will take place prior to Pakistan Super League fixtures, and tickets to the men’s matches on the same day will be valid for the women’s T20s.
Danni Wyatt, Lauren Winfield-Hill and Laura Wolvaardt have already been confirmed to feature as overseas players in the matches, with Bismah Maroof set to captain the Amazons team. Nida Dar will captain the Super Women side which will also contain Chamari Athapaththu and Lea Tahuhu.
The matches have been billed as the launch of the Pakistan’s Women’s League, which is rumoured to be set for its inaugural season in September. The League would be the women’s equivalent of the men’s PSL, the latest in the expansion of franchise competitions into women’s cricket.
All three exhibition matches will be played at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
