Watch: Tim David Blasts Four Consecutive Sixes Off Rumman Raees En Route To Rapid PSL Half-Century

Watch: Tim David blasted four consecutive sixes off Rumman Raees today (March 7) in a nightmare over for Islamabad United, before racing to a 20-ball half-century.

David’s assault happened towards the back-end of Multan Sultans’ innings, with the away side already eying up a big score on 143-2 with five overs to go. Shan Masood had already reached his half-century and faced the first ball of Raees over, which was given as a wide on height. After hitting a four and then a single to get David on strike, the Australia batter unleashed.

Given a knee-high wide full-toss first up, David carved the ball back over the bowler’s head and into the sightscreen. Looking spooked, Raees served up another full toss with his next delivery. David duly helped the ball on its way behind square on the leg side, the ball fairly flat over the boundary rope for another maximum.

“He’s going the journey here,” remarked Danny Morrison on commentary.

Changing up his length and bowling into the pitch in an attempt to stop the boundary blitz, David latched on to the lack of pace on the ball to hoick it into the leg side and over the rope once more. A hat-trick of sixes and 24 runs off the over, it was fast turning into a horror show for Raees.

Bowling his final delivery, Raees couldn’t recover any confidence in his length and bowled a third full toss of the over. This one was once again in David’s slot and he dispatched it over long-on to clatter into the sight screens for a second time. Thirty runs came off the over.

Raees didn’t come on to bowl again after David’s blitz and finished with figures of 0-43 off three overs. David reached his half-century in the final over, with a boundary this time off Mohammad Wasim. He was dismissed in the final over of the innings for 60 off 27. Multan Sultans finished their innings on 205-5, a fifty-ball 75 from Masood the other notable contribution.
