Watch: Rilee Rossouw carted Jimmy Neesham for 21 runs in one over alongside David Miller after smashing a 23-ball half-century in the Pakistan Super League.
The South Africa batter was in brutal form for Multan Sultans against Peshawar Zalmi, following on from an unbeaten 78 off 42-balls in their previous fixture against Quetta Gladiators. Coming in at No.3 after Shan Masood was dismissed in the eighth over by Salman Irshad, Rossouw soon overtook Mohammad Rizwan who also registered a fifty at the other end.
Hitting his first four from the third delivery of his innings, Rossouw went on to hit 10 more on his way to his half-century, including a massive six over long-on off Sufiyan Muqeem. After passing the milestone Rossouw celebrated in style, emulating Spiderman in a gesture with his hands to the crowd.
Joined at the crease by compatriot David Miller after Rizwan was out for 66, the two South Africans set about blasting their side to a big total.
When Neesham came on to bowl his final over, they both accelerated their attack. Facing up to the first ball of his over, Rossouw picked up a couple of runs with a clip to long on before launching the next delivery for six. Faced with a short ball, Rossouw swivelled on his back foot to pull the ball over the square leg boundary.
Two balls later with Miller now on strike, he slashed the ball into the off-side into the gap and straight to the deep point boundary. Having already taken 15 runs off the over, Miller was once again on strike for Neesham’s final delivery. This time he went straight down the ground and way over the fence to pick up another maximum.
The profitable over launched Multan Sultan’s assault at the back end of the innings which saw them reach 210-3 from their 20 overs. Rossouw was finally out for 75 off 36 while Miller finished unbeaten on 23 off 14.
