Watch: An extraordinary Pakistan Super League game was given an unforgettable finish by Khushdil Shah, as Multan Sultans gunned down the highest chase in the tournament’s history to down Lahore Qalandars.
Lahore Qalandars looked to have the upper hand when they posted 206-5, with Fakhar Zaman’s 35-ball 76 driving them to a lofty total. However, in reply, Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan put on a 150-run opening stand to wrest back the initiative. Masood was first out, but top scored with a 50-ball 83, while Rizwan’s 42-ball 69 was his second consecutive half-century.
Once Masood fell, the game swung to and fro. Ten boundary-less balls followed his dismissal, only for 19 runs to flow from the 17th over, bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was smashed despite taking the wicket of Rizwan.

With 26 needed from the last three, Multan Sultans were favourites, but two strong overs from Shaheen and Haris Rauf brought Lahore Qalandars back into it. Rauf bowled the 18th and went for nine runs, taking the wicket of Rilee Rossouw to boot, while Shaheen’s one-run, double-wicket 19th over meant 16 runs were needed off the last, with both batters yet to face a ball.

That mattered little to Khushdil however, with the No.6 smashing three consecutive fours off Rauf before finishing the game with two balls to spare, carving a back-foot six up and over cover for a flat six.
The result took Multan Sultans to the top of the PSL points table, with two wins from two.
