Lanka Premier League 2023 will be played between July 30 and August 20, 2023. Here are LPL 2023 Pakistan players for all five teams.
The first round of LPL 2023, featuring five teams – Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Aura, Galle Titans, Jaffna Kings, B-Love Kandy – will be played in a double round-robin league format. On other words, each team will play every other team twice.
The league stage will be played between July 30 and August 15, 2023. The top four teams will then move to the playoffs.
The top two teams will then clash in Qualifier 1 on August 17, the winner of which will proceed to the final. The teams that finish third and fourth will play in the Eliminator later that day. The team that loses the Eliminator will not proceed any further.
The winner of the Eliminator, on the other hand, will take on the team that loses the Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2, on August 19. The final will be played on August 20, with a reserve day on August 21.
The five teams have signed up six overseas cricketers each, taking the count to 30. With 13 cricketers, Pakistanis dominate the overseas contingent.
The most prominent name is Babar Azam of Colombo Strikers, though the 2023 LPL will also feature Shoaib Malik, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Shahnawaz Dahani, Zaman Khan, Mohammad Haris, Aamer Jamal, and Mohammad Hasnain.
