Watch: Jaydev Unadkat Trips On Wire While Bowling In Nets, Leaves With Heavily Strapped Shoulder In WTC Final Scare For India

Watch: Jaydev Unadkat tripped while bowling in the nets during Lucknow Super Giants IPL training ahead of today’s (May 1) clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore, leaving with a heavy shoulder strapping in a worrying incident for India ahead of the WTC Final.

Unadkat picked up the injury after tripping on an orange wire in his bowling follow-through. The wire looked to run along the side of the net, with Unadkat’s foot catching on it after he delivered the ball.

He fell to the ground as a result of the mishap, landing heavily on his left shoulder. He did not immediately get back to his feet after the accident, rolling on the floor in obvious pain.

A magnifying circle on the video of the incident showed his front foot becoming entangled in the wire as it kicked out to the side after his delivery stride. As his back leg continued to move forwards, he ended up with both feet off the ground and had to put his left arm out to the ground to break his fall. That arm and his left shoulder subsequently bore the brunt of the impact.

After the incident, Unadkat received treatment on his left shoulder. A physio held an ice bag to it while the Unadkat grimaced and supported his arm with a makeshift sling made out of his shirt. He left the nets with heavy strapping on his shoulder.

Unadkat’s injury will be a worry for team India going into the World Test Championship final next month. The left-arm pacer was named in the 15-man squad for the match at The Kia Oval, which gets underway on June 7. Five specialist pace bowlers, including Unadkat, are in India’s squad.

In a further worry for the side, KL Rahul left the field early in LSG’s ongoing IPL fixture, having injured his right leg on the field. The extent of his injury is unknown at the moment.
