The Kolkata Knight Riders lost their captain Shreyas Iyer to injury, with Nitish Rana set to lead the side in his absence. The team will also miss the services of Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan, who are currently part of the Bangladesh national side.

The Punjab Kings, led by Shikhar Dhawan, will miss the services of Liam Livingstone, while Kagiso Rabada is currently with South Africa.

Delhi Capitals are also without their captain Rishabh Pant, with David Warner taking on the mantle. Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi will also miss at least the first game.

Punjab Kings would feel that they hold the edge over Kolkata, given that KKR hold a depleted look without their first-choice skipper out, and two in-form foreign players – Shakib and Litton – currently unavailable.
