GT vs CSK: Team news for today’s IPL 2023 match

Nearly every team in the IPL has been afflicted with pre-season injuries. Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, have been fortunate to steer clear of the infirmary. They have nearly their full squad at their disposal, barring David Miller, who’s currently with the South Africa team.

For Chennai Super Kings, things are more complicated: Mukesh Choudhary and Kyle Jamieson are confirmed to be out. CSK’s overseas camp will be missing Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesh Pathirana, both of whom are with the Sri Lanka team as of now. Sisanda Magala, brought in for Jamieson, is also likely to miss the first game.

Ben Stokes is likely to play the first half as a batter only, still recovering from his knee troubles. MS Dhoni himself is reportedly carrying a knee injury, although he practised wicketkeeping with a brace ahead of the first game.
