GT vs MI, Qualifier 2, Latest weather updates
Our man on the ground Aadya Sharma reports: It first started drizzling around 6pm IST, when they got the first set of covers in. Around 6.20pm, it started pouring: that’s when the main covers were brought in, the rain forcing spectators in the uncovered areas to run for cover. It relented for a bit, but by 6.40, heavy rain had resumed, turning into a proper downpour.
By 6.55pm IST, rain had reduced to a drizzle once again, with covers being removed. The Super Sopper was brought into force, although puddles of water remained. By 7pm IST, Mumbai Indians players had made their way into the middle for practice.

GT vs MI, Qualifier 2: How late can the match begin if the weather interrupts?
The match can begin as late as 9.40 pm IST, without the number of overs being reduced, according to the IPL match playing conditions.
A five-overs-per-side game can also be held if the rain does not relent. The latest that a curtailed match can begin is at 11.56 pm IST, with the scheduled finish at 12.50 pm IST.
If even a five-over game is impossible, and it is not possible to finish the match by 12.50 pm IST, both teams can play a Super Over till 12.56 am IST. The start of Super Over cannot be delayed beyond the specified time.
If the Super Over does not begin at 12.56 am IST, or if rain interrupts the game then, the team that has finished higher on the points table will qualify for the final.
Gujarat topped the points chart, with 20 points from 14 games, while MI had 16 points.
