Watch: Nitish Rana of Kolkata Knight Riders hit a six that went on to smash the drinks refrigerator next to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s dugout during an IPL 2022 clash on Friday.
Rana effortlessly cut a pacey delivery from Umran Malik, one of the fastest bowlers in India, for a six over the third-man region. The left-handed batter used Malik’s raw pace to his advantage as the ball flew off his edge for a maximum, landing just over the boundary rope, before bouncing and smashing the glass of the fridge that was kept beside the SRH dugout.
It was Rana’s second six of the night, having earlier flicked T Natarajan for a big hit on the leg-side. Walking out to bat after KKR had collapsed to 31-3 in 4.3 overs, the 28-year-old scored a crucial 36-ball 54, which allowed his side to post 175-8 in their 20 overs.
KKR, however, succumbed to defeat after Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram stitched together a 94-run stand for Sunrisers in a seven-wicket win.
