IPL 2022 auction: Remaining purse for each team after day 1 of mega auction

Day 1 of the IPL 2022 auction saw teams splurge for a few cricketers while a few teams ended with steal buys as well — here’s the budget left and purse remaining of the ten teams ahead of the second day of the Indian Premier League 2022 auction.

All ten IPL teams were given a maximum budget of INR 90 crore to pick a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 25 cricketers. Here’s the full budget and purse left of the ten teams ahead of Day 2 of the IPL 2022 auction.

Here’s the updated squads of all teams after day 1.

IPL 2022 auction: Purse and remaining budget of teams

Chennai Super Kings [CSK]

INR 20.45 Cr

Last year’s finalists have a total of 10 players in their squad, with a healthy budget of INR 20.45 crore left to buy at least eight more cricketers.

Mumbai Indians [MI]

INR 29.45 Cr

The five-time champions bought Ishan Kishan for INR 15.35 Cr and also got a good buy in Dewald Brewis, and will return on Day 2 with the biggest purse.

Delhi Capitals [DC]

INR 16.5 Cr

The Rishabh Pant-led side managed to buy David Warner, Shardul Thakur, Mustafizur Rahman, Mitchell Marsh and KS Bharat among others, and currently have 13 players in their side.

Rajasthan Royals [RR]

INR 12.15 Cr

The side signed some pretty big names on Day 1, including R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, and were one of the smartest teams in the IPL 2022 auction.

Gujarat Lions [GL]

INR 18.85 Cr

One of the new teams in the IPL managed to get ten players, including Lockie Ferguson and Jason Roy on day 1 of the auction.

Lucknow Super Giants: INR 6.90 Cr

The side will enter the second day of the auction with the least purse among all teams.

Kolkata Knight Riders [KKR]

INR 12.65 Cr

Last year’s finalists have plenty of gaps to fill in their squad and do not have the biggest budget.

Punjab Kings [PBKS]

INR 28.65 Cr

Punjab were one of the shrewdest teams in the auction, making some smart purchases and have plenty in the bank for day two.

Royal Challengers Bangalore [RCB]

INR 9.25 Cr

RCB have filled 11 players in their side, and made some impressive buys, including getting back Harshal Patel and buying faf du Plessis.

Sunrisers Hyderabad [SRH]

INR 10.35 Cr

SRH have 11 players and just over INR 10 Cr to fill the rest of their squad.
