The official IPL Twitter handle posted a tweet about Andrew Tye making his Rajasthan Royals’ debut before their clash against CSK on Monday, April 19, only for the Australia bowler to not feature in Rajasthan’s XI.

In the tweet posted by the official body, a video of the RR team huddle was posted, while announcing that Tye was making his debut. However, that confused fans even further, since the Australia bowler had already made his debut for Rajasthan in last year’s tournament.
Tye, who has 40 wickets in 27 IPL games, made a solitary appearance for RR in IPL 2020. He conceded 50 runs in four overs against the Delhi Capitals, and he picked up just one wicket.
Between the IPL handle tweeting about Tye’s debut, the bowler not featuring in the Rajasthan XI and him having already played for the Royals, fans were left confused after the toss.
IPL deleted their tweet later. Rajasthan Royals have been approached for comment.
Hey @IPL why u deleted this tweet?
If #andrewtye in not debuting his ipl for @rajasthanroyals then why the management decided to give him the cap?
