Mumbai hadn’t won an IPL trophy until the 2012 edition and since then, have claimed five titles in eight years. Rohit Sharma‘s leadership has clearly a lot to do with this turnaround.
In 2021, their tournament has been a mixed bag so far. They have four wins from seven games so far.
IPL 2021 Mumbai Indians team preview
Mumbai Indians have a proven set of performers in their side. With players like Rohit, Quinton de Kock, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah as their marquee names, MI have one of the most complete squads in the tournament.
Mumbai Indians purchased the likes of Nathan Coulter Nile, Adam Milne, James Neesham and Piyush Chawla in the IPL 2021 mini-auction. None of these players have made an impact in the tournament yet, and Mumbai Indians would hope for better performances from them.
While other teams have made significant changes ahead of the UAE leg of IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians have retained their squad. At this stage, they are still in with a good chance to make the play-offs.
