PBKS dished out a horror show with the bat on Friday, April 16, managing a meagre total of 106-8. It could have been worse, with the team slipping to 26-5 within the first seven overs and just two batsmen crossing the 10-run mark.

The 25-year-old Shahrukh Khan came through then, producing a crucial innings that led Punjab’s mini recovery. He struck 47 confident runs in 36 balls, registering four fours and two sixes. He stitched the three best partnerships of the innings with Jhye Richardson, Murugan Ashwin and Mohammad Shami to guide his side past the 100-run mark.

It was a mature and self-assured performance from a player who was playing in just the second IPL game of his career.
