The Chennai Super Kings [CSK] fans were out in full force after yet another no-show from Kedar Jadhav, who just can’t seem to get bat on ball in IPL 2020.

Walking in after MS Dhoni’s departure with CSK 107-5 in 17.4 overs, Jadhav faced seven deliveries, remaining unbeaten till the last but scoring just four runs off them. The chase of 126 was a piece of cake for Buttler and co. who completed the win with 15 balls to spare.

The 35-year-old Jadhav, having played eight matches in the tournament, has managed just 62 runs at a strike-rate of 93.93. While most of the fans openly expressed their displeasure with Jadhav’s performances, some sarcastically took his case.

Dhoni’s comments on the CSK youngsters, claiming the management “didn’t see the kind of spark” they wanted from them, didn’t help Jadhav’s case as well. In Kris Srikkanth’s words, “Does Jadhav have that spark?”

This is going to be one really long team meeting, no?

Some fans suggested, perhaps slightly tongue in cheek, that CSK captain Dhoni had ulterior motives for keeping Jadhav in the XI.

Now surely that’s a record.

Saving the best ones for the last.
