The Global T20 Canada will be back after a gap of three years. The tournament’s third edition starts on July 20 and will run until August 6. The Player Draft for GT20 Canada 2023 was held on June 15 in Mumbai where each of the six participating teams picked their squads.
The Brampton Wolves finished on top of the table in the previous season of the GT20 Canada in 2019 but could not reach the Final. They will be hoping to do better this time with the squad they have assembled.
Each team in the Global T20 Canada 2023 Player Draft was allowed to sign six international players, four players from Associate nations, and six Canadian players.
The Brampton Wolves have signed former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh who will be back in action for the first time after Legends League Cricket 2023 which took place in March, earlier this year. They have also signed three New Zealand internationals: Colin de Grandhomme, Tim Southee, and Mark Chapman, and two Pakistan internationals: Hussain Talat and Usama Mir, along with uncapped Pakistani batter Usman Khan.

The Associate picks for the Wolves include the Dutchmen Max O’Dowd and Logan van Beek along with Namibian Jan Frylinck, while among the Canadian picks are the former captain of the Canada Men’s team and current head coach of the Canada Women’s team, Rizwan Cheema.
The Wolves will be coached by former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond.
The tournament starts on July 20 with the fixtures yet to be announced. The league will serve as a melting pot of stars of the past, stars of the present, and stars of the future, with Canadian cricket gaining the most out of it. The Brampton Wolves would be hoping to contribute significantly to the cause and get as close to the trophy as possible in the process.
