Dinesh Karthik has taken to the tough world of commentary with relative ease, wowing audiences with his researched knowledge of technical nuances. But that’s not the only reason viewers tune in to catch the India wicketkeeper.

Back in March fans had their curiosity stirred as Twitter users from England dropped traces of admiration for Dinesh Karthik in his maiden stint as a commentator on Sky Sports, after the player was brought on board to talk through the England-India white-ball series. While his words on the game did earn him praise, it was the pattern and the colour and the designs of his shirts that won greater fans.

As Indian audiences scrambled to catch videos and images of his attire after his appearance on the broadcast in England, Nasser Hussain and co. could not stop raving about Karthik’s out-of-the-box shirt choices, which now have their own fan page on social media.

What’s our favourite, you ask? Here’s a never-done-before list, where we rank them in order from least eye-catching to the ones we loved the most.

The classic white shirt

It’s nice, it’s traditional, but it’s not Dinesh Karthik! Signed as a commentator for the ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand, Karthik was seen wearing the formal, and while he did look dapper, we prefer the colours.

The colour block

The shirt is… absurd. To be honest, it isn’t for everyone. Olive with black and blue isn’t the most appealing combination, but hey, it’s Karthik, and he makes it work!

The shirt that first caught eyeballs

It’s colourful, it’s bold. It’s almost like a painting.

It’s a painting, not a shirt!

If the shirt above was almost like a painting, the one here is definitely one. BRB, going to Google “Van Gogh shirts for sale”.

Wow, what is that shirt?

It has subtle designs, it has more subtle colours. It’s pleasing to the eye, and we are slightly envious we don’t already own this.

The summer-ish vibes

The haphazard design, the very, very pastel blue and the hints of pink. This would have been number one on the list, but then, it’s Karthik, and believe it or not, there are even better shirts.

Bold!

Just one word for this: B. O. L. D! Definitely not a fashion expert, but the pink roses with the purple background and the shades are a winner.

But the real winner is..

It’s not really a shirt, but how can you look past this? That combination of colours splattered all over to create perfection. Can anyone beat this? We’ll wait.
