IPL to move out of India?

There’s considerable conjecture over the venue of IPL 2024, with the first two weeks finalised to be in India. Multiple reports suggested that there were talks of shifting the remainder outside India due to general elections, the schedule for which was announced on Saturday. Last week, though, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal maintained the tournament will take place in India.

Aaqib Javed joins Sri Lanka as fast-bowling coach

Former Pakistan quick Aaqib Javed has joined Sri Lanka as a fast-bowling coach until the T20 World Cup 2024. The 51-year-old Javed, who represented Pakistan between 1989 and 1998, has been the head coach of PSL team Lahore Qalandars. He has also worked with the Pakistan and UAE national teams.

Star Sports announce IPL commentary lineup

Star Sports, the television broadcasters for IPL 2024, announced their commentary lineup for this season. A total of 150 broadcasters across 20 different feeds have been announced, including Steve Smith and Stuart Broad.

Keshav Maharaj joins LSG as non-player

South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj will train alongside the Lucknow Super Giants during the IPL. Not part of the main squad, Maharaj – who captains Durban Super Giants – has joined the team in Lucknow.

Gavaskar wants Ranji fees tripled

Sunil Gavaskar had advocated for the Ranji Trophy player fees to be tripled, on the back of the BCCI announcing an incentive scheme for Test cricketers.”If the Ranji Trophy fees can be doubled or tripled, certainly there’ll be a lot more people playing the Ranji Trophy, and a lot less pullouts from the Ranji Trophy,” Gavaskar told Cricbuzz, “because if the fees of playing a Ranji Trophy match are a good fee, there will be fewer people pulling out for various reasons.”

Shane Watson pulls out of Pakistan coaching race

Shane Watson, the former Australia all-rounder, has pulled out of the race to become Pakistan’s next head coach. According to ESPNcricinfo, Watson has withdrawn due to his coaching and commentary commitments. He has also coached the PSL team Quetta Gladiators.
