The Hundred 2021: Oval Invincibles Women’s Team Preview, Squad List, Fixtures, Probable XI & Fantasy Draft Tips

by Wisden Staff 3 minute read

The South London-based Oval Invincibles have opted for experienced, South Africa internationals as their women’s overseas stars in The Hundred. Here’s a preview of their squad ahead of the start of The Hundred on 21 July.

The Hundred: Oval Invincibles women’s team preview

With top-class South Africa bowlers Marizanne Kapp, Dane van Niekerk and Shabnim Ismail, Oval Invincibles will be capable of limiting their opposition to low totals in The Hundred. Kapp’s aggressive pace and van Niekerk’s tricky leg-spin will provide good variety in the Oval-based team’s attack. Elsewhere, 16-year-old allrounder Alice Capsey will be the youngest player in the first edition of The Hundred. The batting all-rounder, whose electric fielding makes her an invaluable white-ball player, looks to be a star of the future. With England batter Fran Wilson also in the team, Oval Invincibles look set to challenge for the title in The Hundred.

Captaincy options from Oval Invincibles for The Hundred women’s fantasy draft

With an ODI bowling average of 24 and a batting average of 28, Marizanne Kapp’s ability in both facets of the game means she is likely to pick up lots of fantasy points in The Hundred. An obvious choice as a fantasy captain. Similarly, Dane van Niekerk could be a valuable all-round option.
