Playing their home matches at Edgbaston, Birmingham Phoenix are led by the naturally talented all-rounder Moeen Ali in The Hundred. Here’s a preview of the Midlands-based team, whose star names include England’s Liam Livingstone and Chris Woakes.
The Hundred: Birmingham Phoenix men’s team preview
Although Chris Woakes will only play a small part, with the seamer set to be called up for England duty in August, Birmingham Phoenix have a solid looking team for The Hundred. Liam Livingstone is now an experienced campaigner in franchise cricket having played in the IPL, BBL and PSL, and while Imran Tahir hasn’t played very much in the last year, his googlies remain a threat in white-ball cricket. Kiwis Finn Allen and Adam Milne bring more international quality to the team, while Tom Abell’s talent as an all-rounder will be important when Woakes departs for England duty.

Captaincy options from Birmingham Phoenix for The Hundred men’s fantasy draft
If Moeen Ali isn’t called up by England then his fluent strokeplay with the bat, and wicket-taking ability with the ball will see him rack up plenty of fantasy points in The Hundred. The aggressive Liam Livingstone should be in the runs too, and would be another good option as a fantasy captain.
