The 2023 T20 Blast is coming to the end of its second week, with Birmingham, Worcestershire and Somerset still all unbeaten at the time of writing.

There have been plenty of England white-ball players involved in the action, here’s a round-up of how players who’ve been part of England limited overs squads since the end of last summer have fared so far:

Chris Woakes (Birmingham)

3 wickets @ 20.66; Econ: 7.75

Woakes managed to sneak in a pair of Blast outings before joining up with the England squad for the Ireland Test. The England all-rounder took a pair of new ball wickets in Birmingham’s win over Yorkshire – Adam Lyth and Shan Masood were his victims – and went at sevens in another victory over Leicestershire.

James Vince (Hampshire)

177 runs @ 177; SR: 155.26

Vince has been in sublime form so far with unbeaten 88s in each of his most recent two appearances. The Hampshire captain became the all-time record run-scorer in the Blast’s history on Wednesday, overtaking current England selector Luke Wright to go top of the pile.

Liam Dawson (Hampshire)

15 runs @ 15; SR: 107.14

3 wickets @ 23; Econ: 7.66

Dawson has been characteristically frugal with the ball. The highlight of his campaign so far was taking 2-18 from his four overs in defeat to Surrey. He conceded 19 from his solitary over against Somerset as Hampshire were on the receiving end of a hammering after being bowled out for just 74 at Taunton.

Sam Billings (Kent)

40 runs @ 13.33; SR: 108.10

Billings is yet to find form this season. His County Championship numbers make grim reading – he averages less than 10 so far this summer – and it’s not been too much better in the Blast.

Luke Wood (Lancashire)

8 wickets @ 19.21; Econ: 8.05

The whippy left-armer has been displaying the kind of form that won him his first England call-up last year. He has eight wickets so far in the competition, including one perfect yorker to remove the dangerous Alex Hales for nought against Nottinghamshire. Wood was expensive in defeat in last night’s Roses clash.

Phil Salt (Lancashire)

78 runs @ 26; SR: 130 

Salt is yet to really get going for Lancashire since returning from the IPL.

Liam Livingstone (Lancashire)

59 runs @ 19.66; SR: 105.35

A similar story for Livingstone who has an out of character strike of 105.35 so far in the 2023 T20 Blast.

Jos Buttler (Lancashire)

1 run @ 1; SR: 50

Just the one run for Buttler on his Lancashire return in the Roses game.

Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire)

4 wickets @ 15.75; Econ: 6.40

After a quiet return to action in the County Championship, Mahmood has been closer to his best in the Blast. He picked up 3-17 as Lancashire blew Leicestershire away at Old Trafford last week.

Rehan Ahmed (Leicestershire)

51 runs @ 17; SR: 150

3 wickets @ 41.66; Econ: 8.33

A quiet start to Rehan Ahmed’s T20 Blast campaign. He did, though, have a very good game at home to Derbyshire last night (June 1), taking 2-20 from his four overs and scoring 28* off 14 as his side fell two runs short in the run chase.

David Willey (Northamptonshire)

101 runs @ 25.25; SR: 124.69

4 wickets @ 27; Econ: 7.71

It’s been a tough start for the new Northants captain; his side have just one win from their first four games. He’s enjoying a decent individual season so far though, contributing with a handful of important 30s with the bat and faring well with the ball.

Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire)

130 runs @ 43.33; SR: 139.78

Back-to-back fifties for Hales after a pair of failures to kick off the campaign.

Will Jacks (Surrey)

156 runs @ 52; SR: 154.45

5 wickets @ 10.60; Econ: 7.57

Jacks has continued his fine white-ball form from the winter into this summer. His unbeaten 83 against Hampshire ensured that Surrey made light work of a potentially tricky run chase.

Sam Curran (Surrey)

93 runs @ 23.25; SR: 119.23

2 wickets @ 51.50; Econ: 7.35

The youngest Curran brother has been shouldering additional responsibility this season, captaining the side before Chris Jordan’s return from the IPL and batting as high as three. Curran has been economical without being particularly penetrative with the ball and scored 68 in his first outing of the season against Middlesex at Lord’s.

Chris Jordan

No wickets; Econ: 11.33

Just the one appearance for Jordan since his return from the IPL.

Dawid Malan

247 runs @ 61.75; SR: 160.38

The second-leading run-scorer in the competition, Malan has been in fine form so far. He has scores of 95* and 83 in his last two outings against strong Notts and Lancashire attacks.
