Ben Stokes, in his first appearance since injuring a finger during this year’s IPL, took a superb tumbling catch during Durham’s win over Birmingham Bears in the T20 Blast.
It was a reasonable, if not spectacular, return to action for the star England all-rounder. Stokes – in his first T20 Blast appearance in three years – hit a brisk 29 at No. 3 as Durham piled on 185-4 from their 20 overs before a frugal four-over spell with the ball as Birmingham fell 22 runs short of their target.
Stokes’ most eye-catching moment came in the field as he took a superb catch off the bowling of Brydon Carse to dismiss the dangerous Ed Pollock.
