Ollie Robinson dismissed Ashes rival Marnus Labuschagne for one in Sussex’s County Championship clash against Glamorgan at Hove.
The star-studded Division Two clash also sees Cheteshwar Pujara and Labuschagne’s Australia teammate Steve Smith take the field for Sussex alongside Robinson, who claimed the key breakthrough of Labuschagne for just one, trapping him lbw.
Both players came into the encounter in good form. Labuschagne had been averaging over 70 with the bat so far this summer, while Robinson has been averaging 13 with the ball.
In the battle between two players set to star for the respective sides in the upcoming Ashes series, it was Robinson who had the upper hand this time. He had only dismissed Labuschagne once in the 2021/22 Ashes, pinning him lbw at Adelaide – but only after the Australian No.3 had already compiled a century.
