Watch: Hasan Ali continued his impressive start to his County Championship campaign, demolishing middle stump with a rapid yorker.
The Pakistan international claimed five important wickets in Lancashire’s hard-fought opening victory against Kent, and has gone up a gear in their second game of the season. In the first innings against Gloucestershire, the 27-year-old claimed a six-for to engineer a dramatic collapse from 119-0 to 252 all out, outperforming England’s James Anderson who went wicketless.
But his most eye-catching wicket came in the second dig, and it was a valuable scalp too. James Bracey, who made his Test debut last year, has been one of the form batters in the country across the opening rounds of the County Championship, making two hundreds in the first two rounds of the competition.
However, he was no match for a rapid, pinpoint yorker from Hasan, who beat Bracey’s defensive stroke and split middle stump in two. At stumps, Hasan presented both pieces to a young fan in the crowd, before posing for pictures with the supporter.

Gloucestershire went to stumps on 67-3, still needing another 237 runs to force Lancashire to bat again.
