Twenty teams will play a total of 55 matches at the 2024 T20 World Cup. The teams are divided into four groups for the first phase, to be held in the USA and the West Indies. The first round will be hosted by nine cities, making it the biggest edition in this aspect.
The tournament will begin with hosts USA locking horns against Canada in Dallas on June 1, while Bridgetown, Barbados will host the final on June 29. Co-hosts West Indies will start the campaign a day later against Papua New Guinea.
Australia will play their first two matches on June 5 and 8 against Oman and England, respectively, both at Bridgetown. They next play Namibia on June 11 in Antigua, followed by their last group-stage fixture against Scotland on June 15 in Saint Lucia.
The 2021 champions have announced a 15-member squad with Mitchell Marsh as captain. The squad features plenty of experience in David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Travis Head, and Josh Hazlewood, among others. Explosive batter Jake Fraser-McGurk will travel as a reserve alongside Matt Short.
