Meg Lanning has returned to the Australia squad
by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Australia and Pakistan are set to play three ODIs and three T20Is against each other in a white-ball series that starts next week – here are the ODI and T20I squad lists for AUS vs PAK 2023, including team news and updates.

The two sides play their first WODI series against each other since the three-match series that was held in Kuala Lumpur in 2018 which Australia won three-nil. The two teams took on each other in the World Cup earlier this year in a match that Australia won by seven wickets. In total, there have been 13 ODIs between the two nations since their first match in 1997 and Australia have won all 13.

The series runs from January 16 to January 21 with the first two matches being played at Allan Border Field in Brisbane before the last fixture takes place at North Sydney Oval. The ODI series is then followed up by three T20Is which will be played between January 24-29.

The main news from both squads is the return of Meg Lanning who took time away from the game for personal reasons after Australia’s Commonwealth Games victory in August. Lanning returns to captain the side with Alyssa Healy, who had led the team in her absence, absent from both squads with a calf injury. Healy is expected to return in time for the Women’s World Cup in February.

Pakistan’s squad includes a return for fast-bowler Diana Baig and the side will be led by Bismah Maroof.
