Darcie Brown (5-21), Annabel Sutherland (3-19), and Tahlia McGrath (2-4) bowled out South Africa for 76 runs in 31.2 overs after Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to field. This is South Africa’s lowest total as well as the fourth-shortest innings by any side in the format.
South Africa then reduced Australia to 12-3 before Beth Mooney (78) and Healy added 155. When debutant Delmi Tucker caught Healy off her own bowling, the Australian captain was a run short of what would have been her maiden Test hundred.
Healy joined a list of unfortunate cricketers with a highest Test score of 99, though she has five hundreds in ODIs and one more in T20Is. One person on the list is her husband, Mitchell Starc.
