In November 2025, after eight long years of waiting, the Barmy Army will be returning to Australia to get behind Ben Stokes’ England team in their bid to bring the Ashes urn home.

The Barmy Army are calling it ‘The RetURN’, and their Ashes prepayment plan, which launched in December, is aimed at making the travelling contingent the biggest – and of course loudest – in history, to give the England team that extra edge as they go in search of their first series win down under since 2010/11. 

The Barmy Army came into being in 1994 and has toured Australia ever since. They are the experts in knowing what goes into an amazing and truly memorable trip – win, lose or draw. They are also acutely aware that tens of thousands of England fans place the Ashes tour at the very top of their bucket list but never actually make it down under to live out their cricketing dreams. 

Cost is the most common reason for this and the Barmy Army is already working on solutions to make this tour the most affordable yet, with a wide range of packages to cater for all types of travellers.

The Barmy Army Ashes prepayment plan also means that fans can start spreading their payments towards their bucket-list Ashes tour immediately. By signing up to the pre-payment plan, England fans can select the total they want to save towards the tour, redeemable against any tour package when they go on sale in 2024, and spread the payments via Direct Debit over three, six, nine or 12 months.

In addition to being able to spread payments, anybody who signs up to the plan will also receive a £50 bonus added to their Ashes savings, as well as an exclusive first look at packages before they go on sale to the general public.
