The Sheffield Shield 2020/21 will mark the return of mainstream cricket to Australia after the Covid-19 induced break, with Cricket Australia announcing the schedule for the first four rounds of the first-class competition.

The tournament, which moves into its 119th season this year, will see the first four rounds being hosted in Adelaide. The rest of the competition will be held after the 2020/21 Big Bash League season, with Cricket Australia yet to announce its schedule.
