Pakistan won the T20I series in Zimbabwe by a 2-1 margin. Here are the ratings for their cricketers based on their performances in the series.
Salman Ali Agha – 6/10
M: 3 | 45 runs at 22.50, SR 88, HS: 32 | 2 wickets at 13.00, ec 5.20, BBI: 1-7
Salman gets points for his bowling, not batting. The decision to bowl himself inside the powerplay in the third T20I was impressive, and it was vindicated when he struck second ball to end a dangerous-looking stand.
Saim Ayub – 8/10
M: 2 | 60 runs at 60.00, SR 167, HS: 36*
A brisk cameo followed by a more dominating one, though the latter came in a chase of 58.
Tayyab Tahir – 8/10
M: 3 | 60 runs at 60.00, SR 154, HS: 39*
Two solid cameos down the order to boost Pakistan’s total, including one where he walked out at 19-3.
Usman Khan – 4/10
M: 3 | 44 runs at 22.00, SR 116, HS: 39 | St: 2
Decent behind the stumps. With the bat, he had one solid cameo, but failed in the other.
Qasim Akram – 4/10
M: 1 | 20 runs at 20.00, SR 133, HS: 20
A 15-ball 20 in his only outing in the dead rubber.
Omair Yousuf – 3/10
M: 3 | 38 runs at 19.00, SR 127, HS: 22*
Not much to write home about in three chances at the top. Was unbeaten in the chase of 58.
Abbas Afridi – 7.5/10
M: 3 | 5 wickets at 7.40, ec 4.62, BBI: 3-23
Impressed with his late strikes in the third T20I to almost alter the course of the match. Played support acts in the other two.
Sahibzada Farhan – 2/10
M: 1 | 4 runs at 4.00, SR 57, HS: 4
One innings, four runs, and that was all.
Irfan Khan – 8/10
M: 2 | 27 runs, no average, SR 180, HS: 27*
A 15-ball blitz in the first T20I to boost Pakistan’s score to an eventually unsurmountable one.
Arafat Minhas – 5.5/10
M: 1 | 22 runs, no average, SR 85, HS: 22* | ec 4.25
Came out at 82-5 in the third T20I to take Pakistan to 132-7. Gets half a point for the tidy left-arm spin.
Jahandad Khan – 2/10
M: 3 | 3 wickets at 24.00, ec 10.53, BBI: 2-30
Jahandad failed to impress in the first two matches, but got a chance in the third. There, he failed to defend 12 in the last over against a debutant No.9.
Abrar Ahmed – 8/10
M: 2 | 4 wickets at 12.25, ec 7.53, BBI: 3-28
Bowling with the new ball – unusually for a wrist-spinner – Abrar impressed in both matches. In the long run, it may be an option Pakistan will resort to depending on the conditions.
Haris Rauf – 7/10
M: 2 | 3 wickets at 10.00, ec 6.00, BBI: 2-17
The only big name in the Pakistan attack this series, Rauf had three wickets in five overs across two games and was rested for the third.
Mohammad Hasnain – 1/10
M: 1 | 0 wicket, ec 12.00
Opening bowling in the third match, Hasnain fell apart against the Zimbabwe openers and did not get more than two overs.
Sufiyan Muqeem – 9/10
M: 3 | 9 wickets at 4.67, ec 3.93, BBI: 5-3, 5WIs: 1
The Zimbabweans were all at sea against Muqeem’s left-arm wrist-spin in the second match and slumped to their lowest ever total. Muqeem had 5-3, the best figures for Pakistan in men’s T20Is, and had 4-39 across his other two games.
