Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan 2024 ODIs schedule
Zimbabwe and Afghanistan, who are already playing three T20Is, will take to the longer One Day International format next week. The ODI series gets underway on December 17 and matches are also scheduled for December 19 and 21.
All the games will be hosted at the Harare Sports Club and will kick off at 9:30 AM local time (7:30 AM GMT/1:30 PM IST).
Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan 2024 ODIs: Team news
Hosts Zimbabwe have called up batter Ben Curran and seam bowler Newman Nyamhuri for the first time for the ODI series against Afghanistan. 32-year-old Victor Nyauchi also returns to the ODI side. The brother of England's international cricketers Sam and Tom Curran, Ben only recently made himself available for selection in Zimbabwe.
Having spent most of his childhood there, the left-arm batter is currently the leading run-scorer in Pro 50 List A competition as well as the first-class Logan Cup tournament. Nyamhuri, meanwhile, was the highest wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in the 2024 U19 World Cup.
Afghanistan will be bolstered by the return of star spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman. However, Ibrahim Zadran misses out as he recovers from ankle surgery.
