Zimbabwe will tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and three T20Is in January 2024. The six floodlit matches will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The tour begins with the ODIs, on January 6, 8, and 10. All matches will start at 2.30 PM local time. These will be followed by the T20Is, which will start at 7 PM on January 14, 16, and 18.
Craig Ervine will lead Zimbabwe in the ODIs, while the talismanic Sikandar Raza will be at the helm for the T20I series.
Sri Lanka hold a 47-12 lead over Zimbabwe in ODIs. On Sri Lankan soil, they lead 12-4. Neither team has been in great form, and had to play in the World Cup Qualifiers held in Zimbabwe in July 2023. There, Sri Lanka bowled out Zimbabwe for 165 and won by nine wickets.
In T20Is, Sri Lanka have won all three matches between the sides, the last of which was in Hambantota in the 2012 T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka did not fare well in the 2022 T20 World Cup, but Zimbabwe are in a worse situation: they did not qualify for the 2024 edition.
