The series is set to finally take place after initially having been scheduled to take place in 2020 before being delayed due to Covid.

The teams will play in three ODIs as part of the ICC World Cup Super League and it is the first time that Australia and Zimbabwe are facing each other in any format since 2014.

Australia have lost their last two bilateral series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe have been in decent form: they beat Bangladesh at home before losing 3-0 to India. However, in the final match, they pushed their opponents right to the very end with their star player Sikandar Raza arguably the form all-rounder in the world currently.
