The Women's Premier League came to an end on Saturday (March 15). Here's Wisden's team of the tournament.
Hayley Matthews (Mumbai Indians)
M: 10 | 307 runs at 30.7, SR 122.8, HS: 77, 3 fifties | 18 wickets @ 17.1, ER 8.2, BBI: 3-16
Matthews might have been edged out on her batting alone, but add her volume and consistency of runs to 18 (!) wickets and the numbers speak for themselves – she is undroppable.
Shafali Verma (Delhi Capitals)
M: 10 | 304 runs at 38.0, SR 152.8, HS: 80*, 1 fifty
Continued her excellent form since being dropped from the Indian team. Only one half-century this year, but also three forty-plus scores which came at strike rates of 148 or more. Verma lit up Bengaluru with an unbeaten 80 against RCB to take DC over the line in just 15.3 overs, chasing 148.
Nat Sciver-Brunt (Mumbai Indians)
M: 10 | 523 runs at 65.4, SR 152.5, HS: 80*, 5 fifties | 12 wickets @ 22.5, ER 7.9, BBI: 3-18
Put up the WPL's only 500-run season, and became the first player in league history to make it to 1,000 runs. Her batting alone would be enough to lock her into this side, but NSB also took 12 wickets to put together a monster season.
Harleen Deol (Gujarat Giants)
M: 9 | 232 runs at 38.7, SR 120.8, HS: 70*, 1 fifty
Not the greatest strike rate in a high-scoring season, but Deol was one of the few consistent Indian batters in the tournament. Moved up to No.3 midway through and the highlight was an unbeaten 70 to chase 178 against DC.
Ellyse Perry (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)
M: 8 | 372 runs at 93.0, SR 148.8, HS: 90*, 4 fifties | 3 wickets at 43.0, ER 9.9, BBI: 2-53
How do you argue with a batting average of 93? You don't, and you take a strike rate of nearly 150 with that to boot. Perry may be 34 years old, but remains one of the premier batters in the world. She hasn't bowled much in the WPL, but did chip in with 3 wickets this year.
Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians - captain)
M: 10 | 302 runs at 33.5, SR 154.9, HS: 66, 3 fifties
Most heartening this year was to see Kaur not take her time to get into an innings anymore. Played two fantastic innings in the knockouts – 36 off 12 against GG and 66 off 44 against DC; her top score of the season in the most important game.
Richa Ghosh (Royal Challengers Bengaluru -wicketkeeper)
M: 8 | 230 runs at 38.3, SR 175.6, HS: 6, 2 fifties
Took RCB home in an incredible chase of 202 in the first game, and Ghosh continued to do what she does through the season. Nearly repeated the feat with 69 (33) against UP, and finished with a superb strike rate.
Jess Jonassen (Delhi Capitals)
M: 8 | 150 runs @ 37.5, SR 145.6 | 13 wickets @ 18.1, ER 8.2, BBI: 4-31
Didn't play every game, but was largely consistent. Jonassen was a tad expensive thanks to bowling at the death, and came good with two important strikes in the final. Played her best knocks of the season (61* in two separate games) from No.3, but has to settle for No.8 in this team.
Kashvee Gautam (Gujarat Giants)
M: 9 | 11 wickets at 18.2, ER 6.5, BBI: 3-11
Injury robbed her of a WPL debut last season, but the 21-year-old roared back this year. Went wicketless only twice out of nine games and perhaps more importantly was extremely restrictive. She conceded at under run-a-ball four times.

Shikha Pandey (Delhi Capitals)
M: 9 | 11 wickets at 20.8, ER 6.9, BBI: 2-14
Took some tap against UP in Vadodara (43 in 3 overs), which added 0.5 to her season's economy rate. Otherwise, Pandey was consistent throughout the campaign – making her exclusion from the national team even more baffling.
Renuka Singh (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)
M: 7 | 10 wickets at 21.3, ER 7.9, BBI: 3-23
Equalled her WPL wickets tally from last year in game one (2 wickets), and finally delivered to her reputation this year. 3-23 against DC was the standout, in which she removed Shafali Verma for a golden duck.
