Following the conclusion of three Boxing Day Test matches, the men's Test fixtures for 2024 have come to an end. Read on to find the top run-scorers for the calendar year.
As far as pure counting statistics for the year go, players from England and India players dominate partly by virtue of those two teams playing 17 and 15 matches each. New Zealand played 12 while Bangladesh, South Africa and Sri Lanka played 10 each.
Four of the top ten run-scorers in this calendar year were from England, including the top run-scorer, Joe Root, who finished with 1556 runs to his name. Indian youngester Yashasvi Jaiswal was not far behind after knocks of 82 and 84 in his final match of the year, to take his tally to 1478 runs.

Sri Lankan sensation Kamindu Mendis and New Zealand stalwart Kane Williamson scored over 1000 runs each despite playing just nine matches, while Ollie Pope and Rachin Ravindra fell just short.
Ben Duckett and Harry Brook of England also recorded over 1000 runs in this calendar year, and took second and fourth spot respectively for the highest strike rates in a calendar year among players with a similar volume of runs. India's Virender Sehwag remains the record holder with 1422 runs scored at a rate of 90.8 runs per 100 balls, in 2010.
