The 2023-25 World Test Championship league stage came to an end following Australia’s series win against Sri Lanka. Here's what their clean-sweep has done to the ICC Men's ODI team rankings.
After 69 matches for nearly two years, the league stage of the current edition of the WTC has come to an end. The last series of the cycle was played between Australia and Sri Lanka with the former inflicting a 2-0 clean sweep over the hosts. However, the result didn’t have a bearing on the line-up for the summit clash as Australia had already joined South Africa as the other finalists after winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1.
They will now play the final at Lord’s between June 11 and 15. It will be also the first time that a WTC final will be played without India. India made it to the title-decider on the previous two occasions – 2021 and 2023 – losing both.

Latest ICC Test team rankings
The 2-0 series white-wash in Sri Lanka consolidated Australia’s position at the top of the ICC Test team rankings. They currently have a team rating of 127, 15 ahead of South Africa, who moved to the second spot following the Border-Gavaskar Trophy result. The other sides to have a rating of over 100 are third-ranked India (109) and fourth-ranked England (105).
Ireland, at 10th, saw an improvement in their team rating after winning the one-off Test against Zimbabwe courtesy of Matthew Humphrey’s 6-57 in the fourth innings. On the other hand, Zimbabwe are teetering at the bottom without any points. The match, however, wasn't a part of the WTC.
