The player draft for the 2024 season of the Big Bash League got underway on Sunday, September 1. Here are the latest updates on the which players have been signed by each franchise.
Ahead of the draft, each team was allowed to sign one overseas player on a multi-year contract. The likes of Smriti Mandhana, Hayley Matthews, Marizanne Kapp, Sam Billings, Ollie Pope, and Finn Allen have already been signed up through this allowance. In the Women's Big Bash League, the Adelaide Strikers will be aiming to become the first side to win three titles, with their first two coming in the last two seasons. On the men's side, the Perth Scorchers will be looking for a record sixth title, having missed out on the chance to win three in a row last season.
