South Africa toured West Indies for a Test series earlier this month, which they won 1-0 after the first match ended in a draw. The focus now shifts to a three-match T20I series. All three matches will be played in Tarouba, Trinidad on August 23, 25 and 27 and they will all begin at 3pm local time (7pm GMT/12:30am IST on the next day).

The West Indies squad for the shortest format sees the return of several star players, who are not active in Test cricket including Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein and Rovman Powell. Only Alick Athanaze, Shamar Joseph and Gudakesh Motie from the Test squad have been named in the T20I squad as well. All-rounders Jason Holder and Andre Russell have been rested.

South Africa have named a few new faces in their T20I squad. The likes of Jason Smith, Donovan Ferreira, Patrick Kruger and Kwena Maphaka will all get the chance to shine in Proteas colours after impressing in domestic and franchise cricket.
