Watch: Pacer Shamar Joseph bowled Proteas wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne behind his legs to complete his first five-for at home during the opening day of the second Test between West Indies and South Africa in Georgetown, Guyana.

In a bowling-dominated day, Joseph was the star of the show on a spicy Gerogetown surface. The fast-bowler came in to bowl his 13th over nearing a five-wicket haul. The first delivery was pitched on a length outside off, angling back in with the wide release. Kyle Verreynne, batting then on 21 off 32 balls, shuffled across and made a meal out of it. Verreynne moved too far across, allowing the ball to go through and rattle his stumps behind his legs.

The dismissal earned Joseph a five-wicket haul in his maiden Test at home. He spread his arms in joy and savoured the momentous occasion before being joined by his teammates. South Africa were bowled out for 160, with Joseph finishing with 5-33.

The tourists replied with a strong bowling display on the lively wicket. At the close of the first day of play, the West Indies were reduced to 97-7, thanks to Wian Mulder’s 4-18.
