Rain has already interrupted the first T20I between West Indies and England at Barbados, and could do so again. Here is the weather forecast for the fixture.
After West Indies sealed the ODI series 2-1 at Bridgetown, the caravan stayed in place as the format switched, with the first two T20Is to be held in the same stadium today (November 9) and tomorrow.
England won the toss and elected to bowl, with the first rain delay coming four and a half overs into the game. The powerplay had already been packed full of action, with Saqib Mahmood taking three wickets before Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran hit back. Just before the 35-minute delay for rain, Reece Topley injured himself while bowling. He bowled one ball after the resumption, which was hit for six, before he was forced to leave the field.
There was some concern over the state of the outfield, with heaps of sand used to soak up excess water. The forecast isn’t completely clear, and play could yet be delayed further.
