England have added two memebers to their white-ball squad for the upcoming West Indies tour.
Jordan Cox and Rehan Ahmed, both part of England’s Test tour of Pakistan, have been added to the squad for the WI tour. While Cox will return home before flying to the Caribbean for the white-ball series starting Thursday, Rehan, part of England’s team playing XI in the Rawalpindi Test, will join the outfit after the match.
Cox debuted in international cricket in a T20I series against Australia last month. He is in line for an ODI debut as captain Jos Buttler was ruled out of the series after failing to recover from a calf injury.
Rehan’s involvement in the third Test means he is unlikely to feature in the first ODI. He will link up with Adil Rashid and uncapped Yorkshire wrist-spinner Jafer Chohan as part of England’s spin flotilla.
England announced their squads earlier, stating that two players from the Test setup would be added. They named Liam Livingstone as their captain in the absence of Buttler for the three ODIs, with Essex’s wicketkeeper-batter Michael Pepper as a cover for Buttler.
