Bangladesh's Jaker Ali plays a shot during the first Twenty20 cricket match between India and Bangladesh at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on October 6, 2024

Bangladesh clean-swept the three-match T20I series against West Indies. Here’s what their 3-0 victory has done to the ICC Men's T20I team rankings.

After being beaten in the first two low-scoring encounters, West Indies never looked on song for a consolation victory. In response to Bangladesh’s 189-7, they were bundled out for 109 off 16.4 overs, with leg-spinner Rishad Hossain being the wrecker-in-chief with his 3-21.

The win in the final encounter was set up by Jaker Ali, who capped off an impressive tour with an unbeaten 72. After a huge reprieve when he thought he had been run out on 18, Jaker feasted on the hosts’ attack, smashing six sixes and three fours en route to his 41-ball blitzkrieg.

Bangladesh's 80-run win was their second-biggest ever in the format, and biggest ever against a Full Member nation, in terms of runs. It was also their first overseas T20I whitewash in 12 years in a three-match series, having last done so against Ireland in Belfast in 2012.
