Bangladesh batters Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain decided against running a third after West Indies fielder Obed McCoy injured himself while attempting a catch during the third T20I.
The incident occurred during the first ball of the 14th over when Gudakesh Motie sent down a fullish ball outside the off stump to Ali, who was batting at No.5 for Bangladesh. The batter swiped it towards midwicket where McCoy attempted a catch. He ran across to his left and dived forward with both hands, as the batters took two runs in the meantime.
However, McCoy injured his abdomen as he fell forward after failing to hold onto the catch. Ali, who was batting with Hossain, had plenty of time to take a third run but decided against it after spotting the fielder on the ground and in pain. He raised his hands towards the non-striker, who was keen on another run, gesturing for his partner to settle back into his crease and stop running.
