Watch: West Indies’ tour of Pakistan got off to a cracking start as left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein dismissed Pakistan skipper Babar Azam with a ripper in the very first over.
West Indies stand-in captain Nicholas Pooran decided to take the field after winning the toss in Karachi. Hosein, 28, opened the bowling for West Indies, and took the wicket of Babar early on.
The fourth ball of the first over, Babar’s second, was tossed up and turned away from the Pakistan captain. He moved forward in defence but was beaten by the ball and kissed his outside edge on the way to the keeper.
Ian Bishop, in the commentary box said: “Brilliant, brilliant from Akeal Hosein. The huge wicket of Babar Azam. He’s brilliant at this.”
