Watch: Asif Ali played yet another match-winning cameo on Thursday, scoring 21* in just seven balls to help Pakistan whitewash West Indies in the three-match T20I series.
The third T20I between Pakistan and West Indies was poised for an interesting finish, with Pakistan needing another 24 runs to win in the last 16 balls of the game. The dismissal of Mohammad Rizwan in the 18th over further piled on the pressure, but Asif Ali walked out to play yet another match-winning cameo, which helped his team clinch the series 3-0. His seven-ball 21* was laced with two maximums, the highlight being the one he sent over the ropes off the bowling of Dominic Drakes.
The last ball of the 18th over was angled across and was in the good length slot, but the batter somehow managed to cut it over wide long-off with extreme power and timing to reduce the equation to 13 needed off 12, as the commentator gushed, “Goodness me, he’s got power, this fella.”
